DAY 20 – THE SLAYER
My choice for “S” was THE SLAYER (1982). While I was expecting a standard ’80’s slasher flick, this one actually spent a decent amount of time establishing the characters and building suspense. While it never rose to any level near Hitchcock, I was pleasantly surprised by this movie’s quality. With time spent on exposition, it naturally paced a bit slower than your average slasher, but I didn’t mind. I also reveled in watching a bunch of asshole vacationing yuppies meet their end. Glad to hear that it is as good as the trailer made it out to be! It was already on my list of must see movies, but I guess it needs to be a bit closer to the top.
